Sometimes I think I look much better in person than I do in pictures.  They say the camera adds ten pounds, right?  But for me, I don’t think the camera makes me fat, per se, but rather, it makes me look.. different.

Sometimes I would look at a picture of myself and then look at myself in the mirror and see so many differences.  It’s as if the camera distorts and contorts my face, my body.  Or maybe the lighting and the angle was a little off.  Or every little flaw on my face—the pimples, dark spots, and all—seem to be so much more magnified.  It’s terrible, really.

But atlas, this doesn’t make me fear the camera.  I love photography.  And no, I’m not claiming myself as a “photographer”.  I love photography because it is an art and personally, I love taking pictures and being in pictures.  Photographs capture moments, events, people, places, objects, all imperative to our very being.

I don’t know where this is going, really, but it was all just a fleeting thought that I wanted to record :3
